WebADI: Journal Uploaded Does Not Return An Error When Values That Use Comma instead Of Dot Exceed the Maximum Precision of 2 (Doc ID 2940321.1)

Last updated on MAY 01, 2024

Applies to:

Oracle Web Applications Desktop Integrator - Version 12.2 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

When attempting to upload journal entries via Web Application Desktop Integrator (WebADI), using comma instead of dot the maximum precision of 2 is not validated.

In this case, journals uploaded with WebADI having more decimals than allowed by the currency should return the following error:

"The values entered for the following fields exceed the maximum precision allowable for the selected currency: Debit. Enter a value that does not exceed the maximum precision  of 2"

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:

1. Login to WebAdi responsibility
2. Download a new template
3. Populate data in the template by adding a value having more decimals then allowed by the currency and using comma instead of dot
4. Upload the template
