FNDNLDCX: GL Currencies Are Inactivated(Not Enabled) After Oracle Patching (Doc ID 2941965.1)

Symptoms

The users have noticed a change in General Ledger(GL) Currency setup after applying Oracle EBS patches. Some of the currencies have become inactive.

For example

Responsibility: General Ledger(GL)
Navigation: Setup > Currencies > Define >
 1. Query for a particular currency that was enabled before.
 2. Review that the 'Enabled' flag is not checked. (marked with red box)

 

Steps to reproduce the issue

Step#1
Update currency setup using user as SYSADMIN or other Oracle seeded users for Currency 'ABC'/'XYZ'.

Step#2
Apply any Oracle patch that contains afnlcurr.ldt.(example: R12.ATG_PF.C.DELTA.11

Step#3
Notice that ENABLED_FLAG in FND_CURRENCIES for for Currency 'ABC'/'XYZ' has been updated to 'X'. Hence, the currency is no longed enabled in system.
