Creating Oracle Time and Labor Rules (OTLR) Timecard Errors with "This time overlaps another entry" on Self Service Timesheet (Doc ID 2949008.1)

Last updated on JULY 03, 2023

Applies to:

Oracle Time and Labor - Version 12.2.11 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

When creating a new timecard for a specific scenario using Self Service page, the following error occurs on timecard:

This time overlaps another entry.

Create a timecard for a day from Self Service for Regular elements (exclude from explosion checkbox 'unchecked') with Start 09:00 and Stop 22:00, save the record.
Try to add another entry with Regular Non OT elements (exclude from explosion checkbox 'checked') with time overlapping with Regular element and save.
The error message is received.

With the current design of the application, overlap of elements is not allowed for OTLR timecards.

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:

  1. Using Employee Self-Service Responsibility.
  2. (N) Time > Create Timecard.
  3. Create a new timecard using Regular element and Regular Non OT element.
