R12: PA: Getting Error "Project/Task validation error. Contact your support representative" for Closed Projects While Updating the Timecard Hours for Other Projects (Doc ID 2952030.1)

Symptoms

When trying to update the Timecard hours for other projects the following errors occur for closed Projects.

ERROR
-----------------------

"Project/Task validation error. Contact your support representative"

 

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
1) Go To OTL Responsibility >Time > Recent Timecards

2) Open the Problematic Timecard 

3) Try to update the Timecard hours for an existing Timecard and Submit for an approval

Example
    For existing Timecard Entry for 01-Jan-xxxx update the Timecard hrs from 5.5 hrs to 0 for Project ABC and task 001.

    For the same Timecard Entry for 01-Jan-xxxx Add another row for Project XYZ , task 002 and enter the Timecard hrs 5.5.

    Click “Review, then save the Timecard.

4) Check the issue
