Symptoms

Unable to account invoice either using the Payables Create Accounting program or attempting OnLine Accounting via the Invoice Workbench.

The Create accounting program log shows error "Internal Error", ORA-01555.  The OnLine Accounting attempt also raises "Internal Error".  See error detail below.

 

From the  application, the following  messages could be returned:

  1. Using Create Accounting concurrent request.

    1. Log into Oracle Applications using a Payables responsibility.
    2. Open the Standard Request Submission (SRS) screen
      (N) Other > Request > Run
    3. Select/Run the Create Accounting Program
    4. Invoice does not get accounted.
      Concurrent request log file shows the following Error:
      XLAACCUP: Accounting Program failed with error:

      An internal error occurred. Please inform your system administrator or support representative that:

      "An internal error has occurred in the program xla_ae_lines_pkg.AccountingReversal.
      ORA-01555: snapshot too old: rollback segment number XX with name "_SYSSMUXX_XXX $" too small"



  2. Attempting OnLine Accounting via the Invoice Workbench.
      
    1. Log into Oracle Applications using a Payables responsibility.
    2. Open the Invoice Workbench
      (N) Invoices > Entry > Invoice
    3. Query the Invoice to account
    4. Click on [Actions...1] button
    5. In the "Invoice Actions" popup window, select "Create Accounting" and click [OK]
    6. The following message pops up:
      Online Accounting could not be created for this transaction. Please inform your system administrator that the Create Account Program has encountered an internal error.

      AND/OR 
      Oracle forms locks up for a couple of hours and it is necessary to restart the program.
