E-BI Publisher: Chart Value's Data Decimals Differ Between Two BI Publisher Instances, Both On Same Patch level (Doc ID 2995761.1)

Last updated on JANUARY 05, 2024

Applies to:

BI Publisher (formerly XML Publisher) - Version 12c and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Data Decimals property is set to zero "0" at the Chart level, in BI Publisher Report. However, when the report is executed, the data decimals still appear on the report chart. For example, for a value 1 it is showing 1.000.

It is expected that the decimal values should not be displayed when the Data Decimals property to zero "0" at the Chart level.

The same report behaves correctly in another BIP instance running a different environment.

Both the instances have the patch mentioned in document below applied :

BI Publisher: Setting Up the Data Decimals property to zero "0" at the Chart level is not Reflected in the BI Publisher Template Type (XPT), the Decimals are still Shown in the Chart Values as zero "0". (Doc ID 2963639.1)

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:

  1. Login to xmlpserver (http://host:port/xmlpserver)
  2. Go to Catalog
  3. Open an existing report which was created with Chart type set to Graphs
  4. Edit the report
  5. On the left panel select Properties
  6. Expand Chart Value
  7. Set the Data Decimals to zero "0"
  8. Save the Changes
  9. Run the report
  10. The Decimals values are still showing
  11. Repeat above steps in a different BIP instance and notice the decimal values do not appear and value display is expected.
