Applies to:
Oracle Compensation Workbench - Version 12.2.3 and laterInformation in this document applies to any platform.
Symptoms
When a Compensation Item Fast Formula returns a Text Value instead of Number Value, seeing the Total Compensation Statement (TCS) page spin, then errors with a generic error statement.
The issue can be recreated with the following steps:
1. Create a formula function with Data Type as TEXT and class as External Function.
2. Create a fast formula of type 'Compensation Item Rule" and use above function to return the text value.
3. Create a Compensation Item of type Rule and use the above fast formula.
4. Add this Compensation Item in the TCS Statement setup.
5. Generate statement for an employee.
6. Click the above Compensation Item in the generated statement to get the details.
When the above Compensation Item is clicked in the viewable statement, then the page spins for a while, then finally errors.
It is notable that when a Compensation Item rule is returning a NUMBER value instead of TEXT, the viewable statement page works as expected.
