Interface Trip Stop Fails When Triggered From Ship Confirm For A Trip Containing Delivery Details For Order Lines From Multiple Operating Units

Symptoms
Interface Trip Stop (ITS) errors with below for a trip containing delivery details that are part of lines from different operating units (OU).
ITS log file shows the following:
check_and_process_fok

check remnant model
hdr_fok_index XXX
hdr_fok_index YYY
hdr_fok_index create YYYY
check remnant model
hdr_fok_index XXXX
hdr_fok_index create XXX
hdr_fok_index ZZZZ
Error : FND_API.G_RET_STS_UNEXP_ERROR:
LEAVING OE_MSG_PUB.COUNT_AND_GET 0
ship_confirm_new UNEXPECTED ERROR : User-Defined Exception
STEPS
A. Go to Oracle Applications
B. Go to Order Management Super User Responsibility
C. Perform the below steps of Order to Shipping Execution
1) Navigate to menu path Order, Returns > Sales Order Form > Create 2 orders with 1 line each in different Operating Unit
2) Navigate to Menu path > Shipping > Pick Release Delivery details of both the lines created in step 1
3) Query one of the delivery detail in step 2 in Shipping Transaction form. Go to Delivery tab. Click on Action -> Auto-Create Trip and press Go. Note down the Trip name created here.
4) Query the other delivery detail from step 2 in Shipping Transaction form. Go to Delivery tab. Click on Action -> Assign to Trip and press Go. Enter Trip name by copying the Trip name from step 3 and save it.
5) Now, open the Shipping Transaction form again and Search for Trip now. Enter the From Ship name and To Ship Name with Trip name from step 3 and click on Find
6) Verify that the Trip name is correctly opened in the Result . Click on "Contents By Line/LPN", and verify that delivery details associated with lines created in Step 1 and 2 are shown
7) In the Trips tab, update the Ship Method with any valid value and save.
8) Click on Ship Confirm, and ensure that "Defer Interface" is not checked.
9) It can be seen now that ITS has ended with warning.
