File Corruption and Performance Issue with "nolock" in Mount Options (Doc ID 3014499.1)

Last updated on APRIL 24, 2024

Applies to:

Oracle E-Business Suite Technology Stack - Version 12.2.3 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Goal

If NFS mount uses nolock, weblogic admin server may corrupt file inside $EBS_DOMAIN_HOME/config/fmwconfig/ovd/default when we start/shutdown using adstrtal.sh/adstpall.sh with mode=allnodes

If NFS mount parameter does not use nolock, adstrtal.sh/adstpall.sh with mode=allnodes works fine but might cause serious performance issue and OHS restarts automatically.

So if we use nolock with NFS to avoid the performance issue, We need confirmation on below questions.

1. What are the files might get corrupted

2. Any workaround to avoid  file corruption
