Can Be "Workflow Directory Services/User Role Validation" Concurrent Program Scheduled To Run Every Night In Order To Get The Workflow Directory Services To Be Re-built For the User/Role of Future Dated Employees? (Doc ID 3015026.1)

Last updated on APRIL 05, 2024

Applies to:

Oracle Self-Service Human Resources - Version 12.2 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Goal

After upgrade to R12.2 the future dated employees are created with a WF_role record of orig_system = FND_USER and orig_system_id = user_id, and not orig_system = PER and orig_system_id = employee_id which is needed for Approval Management Engine (AME) and Self Service Transactions.

Since "Synchronize WF Local tables" concurrent is now obsolete, the solution is to run "Workflow Directory Services User/Role Validation" concurrent on a employee by employee basis in order to get the workflow directory services to be re-built for the User/Role in issue.

Creating employees with a future start date is standard business practice but as per Doc ID 369279.1 it is not recommended that "Workflow Directory Services User/Role Validation" run for anything other than on a employee by employee basis:

"The 'Workflow Directory Services/User Role Validation' concurrent request was designed as a one time data fix, though it is re-runnable.
The concurrent program does not need to be run regularly or scheduled because it corrects the corrupt data at one go.
So if corrupted data is suspected, that is when it should be run."

Considered these changes, what would be the best approach for future dated employees?

Can be 'Workflow Directory Services/User Role Validation' concurrent request scheduled to run every night to ensure all the users/people records are synchronized?
