WebADI Journals Fail Journal Import with EDO1 Error When DFF Attribute Columns Use Standard Date Valueset (Doc ID 3020170.1)

Last updated on OCTOBER 15, 2024

Applies to:

Oracle Web Applications Desktop Integrator - Version 12.2.7 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

Journal import fails on WebADI journals uploaded with Descriptive Flexfield (DFF) columns that use the format types Standard Date and Standard DateTime format.

A Standard Date is selected into the DFF  on the WebADI template as 01-Jan-2024, however the date format is changed once the journal is uploaded to the GL_Interface table and Journal Import fails in error.

For example after journal is uploaded to the GL_Interface table, the Attribute1 column will be populated with the DFF date value however the format will have changed from 01-Jan-2024 to 01-JAN-24 12.00.00.000000000 AM.  This format change causes Journal Import to fail with an ED01 error as seen on Journal Import Execution report.   The expected format once the value is populated in the GL_Interface table is 2024/01/01 00:00:00.

ERROR

ED01 - The context and attribute values do not form a valid descriptive flexfield for Journals - Journal Entry Lines.

STEPS

1. Desktop Integration > Select a GL - Journal Lines Integrator Layout

2. Create new spreadsheet using this Layout

3. Use optional values - DFF to select Standard Date 01-Jan-2024

4. Complete Upload Options and Journal is successfully uploaded

5. On GL_Interface table see that DFF date is populated in the Attribute Column but the format has changed to
    01-JAN-24 12.00.00.000000000 AM
