Service Request Approval Process Fails With Error: "An error occurred while fetching the attributes for given transaction id." (Doc ID 3029201.1)

Symptoms

Getting error when trying to select Service Request Approvers from list of approvers for a transaction
When setting up the transactionType "Service Request Approval", and looking at attribute workflow_item_key, seeing unexpected bind variable in dynamic usage field.
Seeing bind of :transactionid instead of expected :transaction_id

This is causing issues when fetching the attributes of the given transaction_type.

ERROR
------------
An error occurred while fetching the attributes for given transaction id. Ensure that the given transaction id is correct and the dynamic queries for attributes and item classes are correct.

STEPS
-----------------------
1. Set up Service Request Approval process.
2. When the trigger status is selected and the record is saved the Approvals process is not kicked off, the trigger status does not change to the intermediate status.
3. When running a real transaction thru the AME tester we are getting the error message mentioned above.
