On : 12.2.x version, Patch Application Issues

ACTUAL BEHAVIOR

Patch Analysis Report displays incorrect file version in "Version in APPL_TOP" column

Patch analysis is not showing the correct file version while showing the file version from the APPL_TOP compared to the file system versions.

STEPS
-----------------------
The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:

  1. Apply Patches the modify the file versions in the file system and complete the patching cycle
  2. Run a patch impact analysis.
  3. Note that the file versions are not matching the actual versions in the file system


BUSINESS IMPACT
-----------------------
The issue has the following business impact:
Incorrect file version in the “Version in APPL_TOP” column in the Patch Analysis report, so actual impact of the patch is unknown, which prevents proper testing.

Changes

 Patches applied during a previous patching cycle which modify the file system versions.
