Create a Purchase order line from Buyer work center throws error Category Is Invalid, Or Category Is Invalid For The Item Error For PO

Category Code  gives the following error for PO 

Line 1 - Category is invalid, or category is invalid for the item

Cause: You entered an invalid category.

Action: Enter a valid category.

Cause: You entered a category that is invalid for the item that you entered.

Action: Enter a valid category for the item.


For  other categoreis, it doesn't give the error.

STEPS
-----------------------

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
1. Login to Purchasing respsonbility
2. Click on Buyer Work Center --> Purchase Order tab
3. Create a Purchase order line , by entering the desired category.
4. Above error occurs, while tabbing out of Category field.
