Symptoms

Employee W-2 PDF, W2 Register, or Maintain Person Security List Information (Internal) fails with the error below.

APP-PAY-06881: Error ORA-01400: cannot insert NULL into ("HR"."PAY_PAYROLL_ACTIONS"."EFFECTIVE_DATE")
has occurred in table PAY_PAYROLL_ACTIONS at location 441

Cause: an oracle error has occurred. The failure was reported on table PAY_PAYROLL_ACTIONS at location 441 with the error text ORA-01400: cannot insert NULL into ("HR"."PAY_PAYROLL_ACTIONS"."EFFECTIVE_DATE")

 


The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:

  1.  Login as HRMS Manager responsibility.

  2. Submit a request (e.g. Employee W-2 PDF).
    (N) Processes and Reports > Submit Processes and Reports > Single Request
     
  3.  Request fails with the error.
