Why ECC Managed Server Memory Usage is Higher Than Expected When Using Linux "top" Command ? (Doc ID 3058604.1)

Goal

ECC Managed Server process is configured to use a maximum memory of 2 Gb as described by the Xmx2048M parameter.

But when checking using the top command, it was observed that it uses almost 15 Gb of virtual size and 2.6 of resident memory.
