Error "APP-PER-289227 : The grade step is invalid" While Trying To Update The Grade In Assignment Form (Doc ID 3066806.1)

Symptoms

While trying to update the grade for an employee system shows error as below
 

ERROR

APP-PER-289227 : The grade step is invalid.
Either the grade step does not exist or the effective dates for the assignments are outside of those for the grade steps.




The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:

  1. Login to HRMS Manager

        2. Navigate to People--> Enter and Maintain

        3. Query the Employee

        4. Click on Assignment and try to update the grade

        5. System shows above error
