Replacing A Unit On Debrief Is Creating A Warranty On The Replaced Unit. (Doc ID 3067333.1)

Last updated on JANUARY 14, 2025

Applies to:

Oracle Service Contracts - Version 12.2.9 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

Replacing a unit on debrief is creating a warranty on the replaced unit.

Create a Service Request (SR) against an instance which does not have a warranty, and add a debrief line on a task under that SR and debrief a new product by entering the instance number on SR under Recovered instance. Once debriefed, the contract gets terminated from the old instance, and the contract gets transferred under new instance, which is working as expected. However, if there is no warranty against the original product the system is creating a warranty. This is not expected behavior.

STEPS
-----------------------
The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
1. Log in with Field Service Technician Portal.

2. Select a task from the dashboard and open it.

3. Go to Debrief.

4. Enter few material debrief lines (install lines) to replace the serial instance

5. Submit the debrief.
