Symptoms

When attempting to update the Problem Code and Resolution Code for a service request from Mobile Field Service (MFS) application, the transaction gets deferred with below error message:

Error message: API Warning(CS_ServiceRequest_PUB.Update_ServiceRequest): The API ignored the p_caller_type parameter.

API Error (CS_ServiceRequest_PVT. Update_SR_Validation): An error occurred when validating the descriptive flexfield. Additional information: Value :INCIDENT_TRACKING.EXTERNAL_ATTRIBUTE_10 is longer than its maximum length of 10 characters.

The issue can be reproduced using the steps below:

1. Log into MFS application.
2. Select a service request.
3. Update the problem code.
4. Sync.
5. Run the Processes Mobile Uploaded Data concurrent.
6. Check if the problem code is reflected in the SR and/or if the transaction was deferred.
