Drop Ship PO Promise Dates Are Automatically Updating Sales Order Date When Changed (Doc ID 3075054.1)

Last updated on MARCH 03, 2025

Applies to:

Oracle Purchasing - Version 12.2.12 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

On : 12.2.12 version, Purchase Order

ACTUAL BEHAVIOR
---------------
After Upgrade to 12.2, updating Drop Ship PO promise dates are automatically updating the Sales Order scheduled ship date (SSD). This is happening without supplier confirmation or acknowledgement and subsequently communicating a scheduled ship date to the customer prior to supplier confirmation.

The issue is that the request date means when the customer is requesting the shipment, and is not necessarily the scheduled ship date, its "just a request".

The supplier will determine the scheduled ship date after they receive the PO and schedule the drop shipment based on their capacity/resources/availability.

In 12.1.3 this issue did not exist, this started with changed made in 12.2.12.

Steps to Reproduce:
Booked Order with no scheduled ship dates – internally sourced
Update to External using Scheduling Organizer - still no dates
Purchase Release runs (via workflow background process) Now there are scheduled ship dates
Requisition Import runs and creates a requisition
Create PO through AutoCreate
Update Need By Date And re-approve
Scheduled Ship Dates are updated
