Workflow Java Mailer Processes Response Email Notifications With a Delay of 60 Minutes

Symptoms
The Java Notification Mailer picks up the response email from the mail-server and performs the actions to process this response. The email if moved to the PROCESSED folder indicating that processing did not raise errors and also the mailer log file does not indicate any problems.
After the response email is processed by the Java Notification Mailer it takes 60 minutes before the work-flow continues with the next activity. The expected behavior is that this happens immediately (or the maximum within a few minutes). The delay occurs consistently for all email responses and is always exactly 60 minutes.
