How To Reset the ECO Autonumbering Sequence (Doc ID 339178.1)

Last updated on OCTOBER 01, 2015

Applies to:

Oracle Engineering - Version: 11.5.9 to 12.0.0 - Release: 11.5 to 12
Information in this document applies to any platform.
FORM:ENGFDSAN.FMB - Define ECO Autonumbering
FORM:ENGFDECN.FMB - Define engineering change order
EXECUTABLE:ENCECP - Engineering Change Order Purge program

Goal

The change notice field in the Define Engineering Change Order (ECO) Form is utilizing the ECO Autonumbering functionality to generate a name for each newly created ECO, using an automatically generated sequence number.  If the next sequence number is inadvertently changed (e.g. by entering or changing the ECO's sequence) so a large gap of numbers is skipped in the sequence, how can the sequence be changed back?

If an attempt is made to change the sequencing back to what it should be, the Define ECO Autonumbering form displays the message:

APP-INV-05285: Next number must be greater that or equal to [value]

Is there is way to reset the sequencing?
