The Brazilian tax legislation defines withholding tax type which can be applied to the suppliers invoices either at the approval or payment time.
For example, we have the following withholding tax types in Brazilian legislation:
IRPF tax (retained tax for person): The IRPF tax amount must be applied at the payment time and the IRPF invoice must be generated at the payment time.
IRPJ tax (retained tax for company): The IRPJ tax amount must be applied at the approval time and the IRPJ invoice must be generated at the approval time.
Pre-requisites: Oracle Payables 11.5.5 or above with the patches AP.F and the JL.G 1773953 applied. Besides this AP pre-reqs, there is a Brazilian Localizations patch (Product Description: Latin American Localization) that must be applied.
