Import is Not Populating VAT Details in the Journal Lines Table

Symptoms
VAT details do not appear in the journal enter form lines after they are imported from the interface table. On creating the interface in GL_INTERFACE these descriptive flexfield columns have been populated
CONTEXT2
INVOICE_DATE
TAX_CODE
INVOICE_IDENTIFIER
The import program is completed with Normal status. And the journals are available in GL
but checking in the Enter Journals form on the lines for Value Added Tax there is nothing in there. Further check on GL_JE_LINES reveal that the context2, invoice_date, tax_code and invoice_identifier have not been populated
