Last updated on MAY 19, 2020

Applies to:

Oracle Installed Base - Version 11.5.9 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

In instance's configuration page, when attempting to add a non-serialized item as components under a sub-assembly with quantity > 1 the following error occurs:

Passed parameter (&instance_id) with quantity not equal to 1 Passed object is associated with non-serialized and non ATO-PTO item (object_id=&instance_id).

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
  1. Query or Create an instance manually in Installed Base
  2. Go to the Configuration page and press the Add button
  3. Add two components into the instance created in step 1. Ensure both components are non-serialized items, and one component has quantity > 1
  4. Try to add an instance under component that added in step3 with quantity > 1.  The above error occurs
Note: This error can occur when running the Install Base Open Interface as well when it tries to update instances in a similar way.
