Symptoms

This can happen in 11.5.10.2 or r12


When attempting to change the start date of an Employee, the following error is raised:

ERROR:
APP-PAY-07860: Costing records exist between the old and the new dates.

The employee has one current assignment. If you change the latest start date field to the correct date and select Correction you get a message that the original hire date will be updated to the same as the
latest hire date.

Click OK .
Then Click save.
Now you will get the error.
