How To Synchronize The Task Sequences For Task ID And Task Number For Customer Support (Doc ID 364596.1)

When Tasks are created against Service Requests in the Customer Support (11i) or Service (R12) responsibility, the task_id and task_number are not the same.
At one point the task_id and task_number were the same values but somehow they got out of sync.

How can the task_id and task_number be fixed so that they are the same values again?
