Unable To Default Sales Channel in Quoting Based On Customer (Doc ID 365848.1)

Goal

Unable to default sales channel in quoting based on customer.

(1) In customer master, attached sales channel to a particular customer

(2) Created a defaulting rule where,
 (i) System checks first for sales channel at customer master level
 (ii) Then checks for profile (ASO:Default Sales Channel)

In Order management, the system defaults the sales channel on customers based on the rule above. If a sales channel is associated to the customer in the customer master, then Order Management defaults it. If there is no such association, then it defaults based on site level profile above.

However, in quoting, this is not working. The system always selects the sales channel from the profile, but ignores the value of sales channel at customer master level.
