Error Occured While Trying to Assign or Unassign Delivery Details from a Container

Symptoms
When attempting to perform a manual Pack action within the Shipping Transaction form, the following error occurs.
ERROR
Error: Error occured while trying to assign or unassign delivery details from a container.
Click on the Details button and the following additional message appeared.
Warning: The delivery line <line number> could not be packed into the container <number> because
the grouping attributes did not match.
Warning: One or more deliveries could not be packed or unpacked due to errors.
STEPS
The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
1. Navigate to the Shipping Transaction form and query a sales order.
2. Select the Action of 'Pack' from the Actions drop down list and click on the Go button. This is when the error appears.
