11i: Journal Approval Delegation Does Not Work (Doc ID 372670.1)

Last updated on JULY 11, 2019

Applies to:

Oracle General Ledger - Version 11.5.10.0 to 11.5.10.2 [Release 11.5.10]
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

Journal approval does not work when delegation rule is used.

User A enters a journal and submits it for approval. The approval notification workflow is as follows:

  1. Notification goes to User B which is the supervisor of User A with an approval limit less than the Journal amount..
  2. Once he approves, the workflow sends notification to its supervisor - User C - having an higher approval limit, but he had delegated approval to User D, also having an approval limit greater than the Journal amount..
  3. User D receives notification and approves the journal but this remains with status "In Process". Checking the journal status in the workflow, it still appears as "Active".
  4. Also, checking again the workflow for User D he has no notification.

There is no error message.

The journal should have been approved by User D, to whom approval was delegated, but instead it remains with Approval status "In Process".
