OAM is Unable to Logon to Metalink After Updating Credentials to The New Format (Doc ID 373144.1)

Symptoms

While upgrading Metalink credentials from the old model to the new one with an e-mail address, the following error message resulted:

Unable to connect to Metalink. Please enter a valid Metalink userid and
password. Please also check if the Web Proxy Setup information is  correct

Changes

The Metalink site has changed the login format.
