Indirect Results Do Not Feed Into The Element Input Values (Doc ID 376801.1)

Last updated on APRIL 15, 2015

Applies to:

Oracle Payroll - Version 11.5.10 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

Create three Elements, say:
BASIC PAY - Recurring
TIME AND A HALF - Non Recurring
GRADE RATE - Information Recurring

BASIC PAY & TIME AND A HALF both have input values Hours and Rate.
GRADE RATE has the input value Rate.

Define a Function for calculating the Grade Rate and called in the Formula for the element GRADE
RATE.

In the formula results for GRADE RATE, set
1. Direct Result into Pay Value
2. Update Recurring entry BASIC PAY into Rate
3. Indirect Result to TIME AND A HALF into Rate

Now, when Quickpay is run, have the Rate feeded into BASIC PAY and Pay Value of GRADE RATE. But,
the element TIME AND A HALF doesn't get the value. When further investigated by getting into Run
Results, could see the element TIME AND A HALF populated twice. In these one of them had the
original entry value for Hours and the other one had the Rate which was fed in from Indirect
Results.

As a result the element formula is evaluating it as zero.
