This document includes all versions of Oracle EBS 11i and R12 and later
For every item present in table MTL_SYSTEM_ITEMS_B, corresponding records should exist in table MTL_SYSTEM_ITEMS_TL for every installed language.
For example, if there are three languages currently installed - 'US', 'KO', 'RU' then for every unique item present in table MTL_SYSTEM_ITEMS_B, there should be three records in table MTL_SYSTEM_ITEMS_TL (translation table), one for each installed language.
Invalid / incorrect data in MTL_SYSTEM_ITEMS_B and MTL_SYSTEM_ITEMS_TL tables may exist but the issue may be seen or not by the Users. For example, no error or an error such as APP-INV-5479 can be raised when trying to assign a specific item to a child organization when this issue is occurring.
Oracle forms displays the information from MTL_SYSTEM_ITEMS_TL. If the data is not in the table it displays a blank field or a no data data found error.
Errors APP-FND-01934 ORA-01403 may also be seen.
The following script can be used to confirm that the MTL_SYSTEM_ITEMS_TL table has missing records; the second will check if MSITL has Orphan records.
If the first of the above scripts returns any rows, use the fix below to correct the MTL_SYSTEM_ITEMS_TL table missing one or more language translation records.
If the second returns rows, you may need a datafix. In that case, log a Service Request and mention this note.
