Element Database Item Can Not Be Referenced After Being Setup

Symptoms
Problem Statement:
After setup an entry value as a database item, it can not be referenced within the fast formula when trying to declare it. An error message is thrown stating:
Alias for 'XXXX_START_DATE_ENTRY_VALUE' is not a database item.
This Input Value is as type of Date but for other types within the same element such as Hours or Money, can be aliased with no issue.
Steps to Reproduce
- Create an Element
- Create Input Values 'Start Date' and 'End Date'.
- Input the Name, Unit, Sequence, User Enterable.
- Select the option 'Database Item'.
- Select formula
- Modify the formula giving the error on the alias statement of 'XXXX_START_DATE_ENTRY_VALUE'
