Customer Form, Contacts Issue: Why Can't the Record for a Party of Type=Person be its Own Contact?
(Doc ID 392934.1)
Last updated on OCTOBER 13, 2022
Applies to:
Oracle Receivables - Version 11.5.9 to 11.5.10.3 [Release 11.5.9 to 11.5.10]Information in this document applies to any platform.
Symptoms
When you create a new customer record of Type = Person, why can't you use that same record to be the Contact. Since this customer is not an organization but rather an individual, it is likely that the contact would also be himself, so why do you need to create his information as both Customer and Contact
Steps To Reproduce:
Responsibility: Receivables Manager
Navigation: Collections > Customer Calls
- Select customer account for a Party Type = Person
- When you create a call, it requires you to enter contact information manually. This creates a new Party record, which is redundant.
Responsibility: Receivables Manager
Navigation: Customers > Standard.
- Query a customer account with Party Type = Person.
- Attempt to add the same person as a contact and the following error message is received:
APP-AR-96282: Error: Subject ID and object ID cannot refer to the same party ID.
