Ground Schedule Generate Shipment Does Not Follow The Defined Period (Doc ID 395547.1)

Last updated on JULY 09, 2014

Applies to:

Oracle Transportation Management - Version: 5.0 to 5.5
This problem can occur on any platform.

When using the action 'Generate Shipments' for a ground schedule, rather than create shipments for the defined period, OTM generates shipments from the Schedule Cutoff Time instead of the specified start date.

For example:
You want to generate shipments from 01-Sep-2006 till 15-Sep-2006.
On the screen, you populate a start date of 01-Sep-2006 with a duration time of 15 days.
The algorithm will look at the Schedule Cutoff Time on the schedule (in our example, 01-Aug-2006), if it is populated, this date is used as the start date to create shipments.
So shipment will be created from 01-Aug-2006 till 15-Sep-2006 rather than 01-Sep-2006 till 15-Sep-2005

Expect that OTM generates shipments in the specified time frame/period.

The issue has the following business impact:
Due to this issue, unwanted shipments are created and have to be deleted.
