Symptoms
On 11.5.10 in Production:
When attempting to change a grade step placement, the following error occurs:
ERROR
APP-PER-289225: Invalid Assignment.
You are trying to create a placement for an assignment that already has a placement.
Please change the assignment id or update the current record.
STEPS
The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
Attempt to change a grade step for an employee.
Observe the error.
BUSINESS IMPACT
The issue has the following business impact:
Due to this issue, users cannot cannot assign the proper step to an employee for proper grade and pay.
