UK Statutory Maternity Pay (SMP) : Average Earnings not using expected periods for calculation (incorrect Average earnings) (Doc ID 405902.1)

Symptoms

When the pay date of an employee is in mid month and falls before the end date of the QW (Qualifying Week) SMP seems to use the wrong periods to do the calculation for Average Earnings :

For example :

QW (start) = 17 September QW + 6 (end) = 23 September Pay Date = 19 September

 

So, the regular payment date before 23 Sep is August, the last pay date before the QW is the 19th September.

Customer is expecting August and September to be the periods used in the calculation of Average Earnings, but the system appears to use July and August instead !
