Purpose

Introduction:

The purpose of this document is to explain the functionality of the Common Accounting Module (XLA) specifically in relation to the transaction categories belonging to Project Accounting and identify and possibly help resolve some of the drilldown issues for PA transactions imported into GL.   XLA drilldown was introduced in release 11i and allows the user to drill down to the subledger form (such as Expenditure Inquiry in Projects) for transactions interfaced and imported in detail. One example of XLA drilldown functionality is accomplished using the GL module administrator (XLAIQDRL.fmb) drilldown and has the following navigation path:

GL responsibility: Inquiry: Journal > Account Inquiry form (GLXIQACC.fmb) (enter GL account based on Project source query in Journal Entry Inquiry form): ‘Show Journal Details’: ‘Drilldown’ > Subledger Expenditure Accounting form (XLAIQDRL.fmb): ‘Show Transaction’ > Subledger form (e.g.: PAXTRAPE.fmb): ‘Show Transaction Accounting’ > Subledger Accounting form (XLAIQACL.fmb)

The XLA features are documented as part of the core product documentation that uses XLA.

In release 11i, the drilldown is supported for specific journal entry sources and categories.  Before reporting a drilldown bug, please make sure that the journal entry source and category is supported by XLA.   The XLA drilldown is available for Project Accounting in 11i for the following journal entry categories for costing:
Labor Cost, Miscellaneous Transaction, Revenue, Total Burdened Cost, Usage Cost.
… and uses the main views: XLA_PA_EI_AEL_GL_V and PA_AEL_GL_EI_V.

For revenue the XLA drilldown uses the views: XLA_PA_DR_AEL_GL_V and PA_AEL_GL_DR_V.   PA batches of the revenue category are handled by Project Billing.

Other PA and Multiple Reporting Currencies (MRC) related XLA drilldown views used are:

PA_AEL_GL_DR_MRC_V
PA_AEL_GL_EI_MRC_V
PA_AEL_SL_DR_MRC_V
PA_AEL_SL_DR_V
PA_AEL_SL_EI_MRC_V
PA_AEL_SL_EI_V
XLA_PA_DR_AEL_SL_MRC_V
XLA_PA_DR_AEL_SL_V
XLA_PA_EI_AEL_SL_MRC_V
XLA_PA_EI_AEL_SL_V
XLA_PA_AEL_DR_MRC_GL_V
XLA_PA_AEL_EI_MRC_GL_V

Refer to the eTRM for more information on these views and the associated XLA packages.  Also refer to the online Oracle Applications Release 11.5.10 Documentation CD for complete information on Oracle Financials and Oracle General Ledger/XLA.
