Oracle Engineering - Version to 12.1.3 [Release 11.5 to 12.1]
Information in this document applies to any platform.
FORM:ENGFDECN.FMB - Define engineering change order

After implementing an Engineering Change Order (ECO), the following FYI (For Your Information) notification is being sent:

Message Type: ENGCACT
Subject: Change Order &ECO_Number has been promoted to Implemented Status

Some customers have reported receiving a java exception when attempting to open two of these FYI notifications consecutively. An excerpt from the  java exception page is shown here:

oracle.apps.fnd.framework.OAException: java.lang.NullPointerException

Also, There are multiple notifications for same ECOs because same change is being implemented in multiple orgs. The expectation is that these notifications should not be delivered for change orders created from Engineering Module. Sending this notification may cause Workflow Mailer instability trying to find a server.

Either upgraded to R12 from an older version of, or Applied some patches on 11i (that contains file ENGEIMPB.pls)
