Ora-10858: A Non-Numeric Character When Entering Absence For Specific Employee

Symptoms


When attempting to create an absence for a particular employee
the following error occurs.

This problem only effects 1 employee as far as you know. You have tested entering absences for
many other employees without any problems.

ERROR
ORA-10858: a non-numeric character was found where a numeric was expected.
ORA-06512: at "APPS.HR_PERSON_ABSENCE_API", line 876.

FRM-40735: ON-INSERT trigger raised unhandled exception ORA-01858.

STEPS
The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:

1.  HRMS > People > Enter and Maintain

2. Employee number: xxxx

3. People > Others > Absence

4. Attempt to save: -
