Lot Controlled Install Base Item Instances is Expired at Receipt (Doc ID 416481.1)

Last updated on MAY 18, 2020

Applies to:

Oracle Installed Base - Version 11.5.9 to [Release 11.5]
Information in this document applies to any platform.

A repair order is created in Depot Repair for a Lot-Controlled, Install Base Trackable item that did not previously exist in the Install Base. The user creates a new instance through Depot Repair and after receiving the the item into inventory, the Installed Base instance is "Expired".

1. Create Repair Order - generate Order - Install Base Record created
2. Receive Item into inventory - enter Lot Number
3. Go to the Install Base - Item is now "Expired" and new instance is created

Because the previous instances in Install Base are expired by the Return Material Authorization Receipt transaction and all other subsequent transactions users are unable to track the history of transactions for the Lot Controlled Item in the Installed Base.

Is this a bug or functionality.
