Goal
NOTE: If you wish to upgrade JDK in E-Business Suite 12 please refer to <Note:418664.1>.
By default e-Business Suite 11i installs a version of JDK 1.4 for use by Oracle Applications.
Customers can optionally upgrade to JDK 1.5 (also known as J2SE 5.0) by following <Note 304099.1>.
Over time, revisions to the JDK are released by the operating system vendors.
Generally, and for the purpose of this Note, the syntax used to denote JDK versions are 1.5.0_<sub-version> where sub-version is a 2 digit number, e.g. 1.5.0_11.
Whilst <Note 304099.1> indicates how to upgrade from earlier versions of JDK, such as 1.4, to 1.5 it does not document how to upgrade sub-versions of the same JDK, e.g. JDK 1.5.0_08 to 1.5.0_11. This Note documents that process.
