X_LANE Table Corrupted When Being Updated From A Different Domain
Last updated on SEPTEMBER 08, 2016
Applies to:Oracle Transportation Management - Version: 5.0
This problem can occur on any platform.
When one domain's rate is updated from another domain, the domain_name field in the x-lane table is being updated with the user's domain_name. As a result, you can have an x-lane gid that is for example 'DOMAIN1.99999' and the domain_name for the xlane is for example 'DOMAIN2'. Planning will completely fail for any rate where this occurs.
-- Steps To Reproduce:
1. Grant yourself access rights to the rates of a different domain.
2. Change the cost of a rate record in that domain from the domain you are logged in.
3. query the x-lane table through the sql backdoor (query: select * from x_lane where INSERT_USER
like '<username.domain of the rate domain>'
4. On the last entry, the INSERT_USER is the user from the rate domain, whereas the
UPDATE_USER is the one that made the update.
-- Business Impact:
The entries are no longer usable for planning and subsequently shipments remain unplanned.
