OEOIMP: Order Import Configuration Validation Fails Due To Overlapping Effectivity Dates

Order Import fails when attempting to import an ATO model.
The concurrent requests completes normally, but the orders are going into the Corrections form with the following error message:
The Order Import request log file shows:
Configuration validation resulted in error(s).
Order failed with unexpected error(s).
(COMPONENT CODE: xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx)
SPC RETURNED MESSAGE_TEXT: UNABLE TO COMPLETE THE CONFIGURATION BECAUSE SOME ITEMS HAVE OVERLAPPING EFFECTIVITY DATES. THIS IS A SETUP ISSUE. PLEASE CONTACT THE VENDOR OR APPROPRIATE SUPPORT REPRESENTATIVE FOR RESOLUTION.
Note: A similar error occurs when trying to configure the same ATO item in the Sales Orders form.
After selecting the BOM components in the Configurator window, attempt to save and the error appears. In this case, the following error is seen in a pop up window:
The problem started occurring after some new components were added to the BOM.
