Can the "Notice Period" be Default to the Employee Assignment Window (Doc ID 437010.1)

Goal

The 'Notice Period' defaults at the Buiness Group level for each category of employee, although the same functionality is not available at the Employee Assignment window. 

Can the 'Notice Period' be defaulted at Employee Assignment?  If not, what is the impact of defaulting it to the Business group level?
