Last updated on MAY 06, 2022

Applies to:

Oracle Transportation Management - Version 5.5.01 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

-- Problem Statement:
On 5.5.1:

OTM produces duplicate shipment cost records when moving multistop to a pool shipment and a pool shipment to a multistop.

-- Steps To Reproduce:
The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:

1. A shipment has the following stops:  4 stops (1 pick, 3 drops). The 4th stop is a De-consolidation Pool and the 2nd and 3rd stops are just ShipFrom/ShipTo Locations.

2. View the Shipment Financials and notice that there is 1 base cost and 1 stop off charge.

3. Click Actions --> Manage Pool Shipment --> Convert Multistop to Pool.

4. Select Stop 3 as the 'Stop to be converted' and Stop 4 as the 'Pool Stop' and click OK.

5. The shipment is now changed to a 3 stop TL shipment and an LTL Pool shipment has now been created. representing the old stop number 3 on the TL shipment.

6. View the TL Shipment Financials and now notice that there are duplicate cost records on the shipment (2 base costs and 2 stop off charges).  However, the total planned cost on the shipment is actually the correct cost.

7. If you select the newly created LTL Pool Shipment and click Actions --> Manage Pool Shipment --> Convert Pool to Multistop, it will revert back to a stop on the TL shipment and delete the LTL Pool shipment.  However, it will now also add another set of shipment costs. The TL shipment will now have 3 base costs and 3 stop off charges.
