Removing A Grade From A Grade Ladder Keeps Residual Components

Information in this document applies to any platform.
Find when removing a grade from a grade ladder, the Options (Steps) and Plan (grade) is still
active and effective.
Expect when removing a grade from the grade ladder, the grade (Plan) and Steps (Options) within
that grade will be end dated as of the effective date the removal of the grade was submitted
within the wizard.
-- Steps To Reproduce:
The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
1. HRMS Responsibility>Work Structures>Grades>Description/Pay Scale/Point Values/Grade
Steps and Points
Created 3 grades with their pay scales, scale points, and grade steps associations.
2. Created a grade ladder Effective 01-Jan-2007 >submit.
3. Queried the ladder and removed the 2nd and 3rd grades, continue through wizard, and submit.
4. GUI, found that all the grade steps still exist as options, and the grades as plans. Even after
deleting them manually, I am still not able to add the grade again to the ladder.
