Number of JDBC Connections Increase In 11i ATG Rup 5, 6 and R12 Because JDBC Parameters Are In Lower Case (Doc ID 459072.1)

Last updated on DECEMBER 09, 2016

Applies to:

Oracle EBS Applications Performance - Version 11.5.10.2 to 12.2 [Release 11.5.10 to 12.2]
Information in this document applies to any platform.
This problem can occur on any platform.

Symptoms

When running E-business Suite Applications in:

- 11i with ATG Rollup 5 (<Patch 5473858> - 11i ATG PF.H RUP 5) or ATG Rollup 6 (<Patch 5903765> - 11i ATG PF.H RUP 6),

- R12, from 12.0.1 to 12.0.3

the number of JDBC connections increase because the FND_JDBC_BUFFER_MAX parameter is taking the default value of 50%, even though the parameter is set correctly in the $FND_TOP/secure/.dbc file.

This can be confirmed navigating through:

"System Administration" responsibility  > Diagnostics : AOLJ Database Connection Pool Status
or
"Oracle Applications Manager" > Jserv Usage > Connections

and check for:

FND_JDBC_BUFFER_MAX: 50%

Changes

After applying <Patch 5473858> - 11i ATG PF.H RUP 5
or
<Patch 5903765> - 11i ATG PF.H RUP 6
or when in R12.0.1-12.0.3
