FRM-40501, ORA-00054 When Trying to Use Work In Process (WIP) or Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) Forms (Doc ID 464141.1)

FORM:WIPDJMDF.FMB - Define Discrete Job
FORM:EAMWOMDF.FMB - EAM Work Order Definition
FORM:WIPTXCMP.FMB - Completion Transactions
FORM:EAMWOCMP.FMB - EAM Work Order Completion
FORM:EAMRSMDF.FMB - EAM Resource Requirements
FORM:WIPTXMAT.FMB - WIP Material Transactions


On 11.5.9 in Production:
When attempting to cancel a discrete job

Could not reserve record (2 tries)
FRM-40501: Oracle Error Unable to reserve record for update or delete.

Or, for a concurrent request, you may see:

ORA-00054 : resource busy and acquire with NOWAIT specified

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
1. WIP: Discrete: Discrete Jobs
2. Enter org  and find the job
3. Tools Change Status 1: Cancel (or close...)
4. Error
5. You will see the message Could not reserve record [2 tries]. Keep Trying?.  Eventually, you will answer no.

Please note that this can happen in ANY WIP or EAM form.
